Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newcastle United: Lee Ryder's Premier League preview

We should be sitting here talking about an away win in the previous game but after a host of missed chances at Watford, the struggle remains real for Steve Bruce and his players.

Joe Willock, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff or Jacob Murphy, take your pick, had one of them doubled the lead against the Hornets then I think it would have been game over last Saturday.

Instead, they offered Watford a route back into the game and were left hanging on for the draw.

That increases the pressure on the trip to Wolves this weekend and could also make for a difficult international break.

Lee Ryder's prediction

Can Newcastle show their clinical side at Molineux this weekend?

If they can then maybe this game shouldn't be the daunting prospect it is in danger of turning into for United.

Given the players are, despite what some are suggesting, still playing and fighting for Steve Bruce, I'd like to think they head to Wolves desperate to prove a point.

Wolves are big favourites going into the game but haven't won at home yet, losing to Brentford, Spurs and Man United so far.

Newcastle's bad run has to end eventually so I'm going for a narrow Toon win.

Incredibly, this fixture has ended 1-1 in the last five clashes between the two sides!
