Wolverhampton Wanderers legend Kenny Hibbitt reflects on his brilliant career and ending with Bristol Rovers

Watch part two of Subs Bench's chat with Kenny Hibbitt.

After the first part of his chat earlier this month, which saw Hibbitt speak about his playing career and move to Bristol Rovers, this week's episode focuses on his move into management.

Hibbitt broke his leg in February 1988 when playing for Rovers against Sunderland and became Gerry Francis' assistant at the club.

After winning the old Division Three title in 1990, Hibbitt agreed to take over as Walsall boss, with Francis' permission, but opted to stay with Rovers for their Leyland DAF Cup final at Wembley.

"I wanted to be there at the final, supporting them," Hibbitt said.

"I asked Walsall and Bristol Rovers and together they agreed I could go to Wembley.

"It was a terrific season, there were ups and downs in it, arguments on the bus, Gerry lost his temper with one of the players and he came out all scruffed up because this player wouldn't get the kit on or help the physio.

"He told me to take the players into a hotel and have a drink with them, and they must have had a bit of a fracas on the bus.

"The player came back with his tie to the side saying he wanted the police!

"There were lots of ups and downs but it was a wonderful season - we played Bristol City at Bath, which was probably the title decider."
