Wolverhampton stabbing: Three knifed in broad daylight as police hunt attacker

Police are hunting for a knifeman after a triple stabbing in Wolverhampton city centre.

Officers found two injured men on the floor near Wolverhampton Civic Centre just after 12am today.

Both knife victims were taken to hospital, where they remain today in a serious but stable condition, Birmingham Live reported .

A local said the two victims "were left for dead" in the broad daylight attack.

A third man also sustained minor injuries after he was stabbed.

West Midlands Police has now launched an investigation into the incident.

Police teams are now thoroughly scouring the city centre for evidence including the nearby Molineux Stadium. 

Shocking images from the scene included a one of the victim's blood-soaked jacket.

An officer is even seen searching a city centre bin following the night of violence which saw three stabbed.

"It’s terrifying to hear that there has been a stabbing so close to home.

"People just want to go out and have a good time, why do they bring blades?"

A statement read: "Police are investigating a triple stabbing in Wolverhampton city centre just after 12am this morning (Sunday 28 April).

"Officers were called to North Street near to Wolverhampton Civic Hall where two injured men were found on the floor.

"They were taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain today in a serious but stable condition. A third man also sustained minor injuries.

"CCTV and forensic enquiries continue to establish the circumstances around the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact us via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or to call 101 anytime.
