Woking murder probe: Two arrested after elderly woman attacked with knife in Surrey home

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman was attacked with a knife in a home in Surrey.

Police were called to a Julian Close, Woking, following concerns raised about a person's safety on Thursday at 12.21pm.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a woman’s body inside the property.

Police said she was not stabbed but had suffered a severe neck wound caused with a knife.

A knife was recovered and police sealed off the detached house to collect forensic evidence.

A murder investigation was launched two men were arrested. Officers confirmed they were both known to the deceased and they remain in custody.

Surrey Police borough commander Inspector Andy Greaves said: “This afternoon a number of resources attended a quiet area of Woking following a serious incident within a home address.

“This investigation is in its early stages and it would be wrong to speculate on exactly what’s happened, however what I am able to share is that this is an isolated incident which poses no risk to the wider public following the arrests made at the scene.”
