WNBA ref had the most over-the-top ejection after bumping into Astou Ndour

You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger overreaction from an official than what unfolded during Sunday’s WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics.

It made no sense whatsoever.

During the second quarter, official Kevin Fahy could be seen walking towards Allie Quigley and Astou Ndour. As he walked between the two players, Ndour was signaling something while holding her wrist and brushed against Fahy. It was minimal contact and certainly wasn’t malicious.

You wouldn’t know that from Fahy’s reaction. He responded with a pronounced, “WHOA!” And stepped into an over-the-top ejection signal to toss Ndour from the game.

I’m not sure exactly what Fahy was thinking there, but he absolutely made the wrong decision to toss Ndour — and made a fool of himself in the process.

It was the kind of officiating that should have no place in basketball.
