WNBA players are no strangers to men on the internet criticizing the quality of their sport. But rarely does the trash talk ever get settled on an actual basketball court.
For Minnesota Lynx guard Lexie Brown, she was given that opportunity.
In the first edition of The Hoop State Network’s She Nice! series on YouTube, Brown took on former men’s Division II basketball player Darius Moore in a game of one-on-one.
The rules of the game were simple: All makes were worth one point, four dribbles allowed and first to seven wins. Brown used a WNBA ball while Moore used a men’s basketball during his turn.
Though Brown predicted that she was going to win 7-0, Moore put forth a solid effort.
He came within a point of winning before Brown rallied with two straight points for a 7-6 win.
And to be fair to Moore, he wasn’t an actual trash-talker to Brown on Twitter. They went with a real hooper for the first episode but plan to enlist social-media haters for the other installments.
