Retired boxers casting envious glances towards the riches on offer in the modern ring is nothing new.
But the coronavirus crisis appears to have exacerbated the problem as legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield eye a return.
Their training videos have gone viral on social media with fans amazed at the power these heavyweights still possess.
The fact this means little in the grand scheme of prizefighting seems to pass them by.
But one man who has repeated flirted with a return to the ring over the last three years is Wladimir Klitschko.
His Wembley barnburner with Anthony Joshua in 2017 lives long in the memory as the Ukrainian came close to regaining his world titles.
His eventual defeat at the hands of the heir to his throne looked an appropriate way to bow out after years of debate about where he and his brother Vitali ranked in the pantheon of heavyweight greats.
Yet stories have regularly surfaced about the younger brother, now 44, considering a comeback.
Last year, Klitschko had reportedly gone as far as discussing a three-fight deal with streaming service DAZN which would have been worth an eight-figure sum.
Rematches with Joshua and Tyson Fury, against whom he suffered defeat in 2015, were mooted, along with a fight against then world champion Deontay Wilder.
But the cerebral Klitschko was likely playing mind games with boxing fans having opted to retire instead of taking an instant rematch with Joshua in Las Vegas.
And so his post on social media this week which showed him as ripped - if not more so - as he was when at his peak, likely means little beyond the obvious.
The sooner we move out of this pandemic and back to the big fights we want to see, the better.
