Wizards’ Bradley Beal responds to Kent Bazemore’s scoring title, injury comments

Entering the final week of the season, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal and Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry are in a tight race for the 2020-21 NBA scoring title.

Curry holds the edge, averaging 31.9 points per game on 48.7% shooting from the floor to Beal’s 31.4 points per contest on 48.9% shooting from the field.

On Saturday, Beal torched the Indiana Pacers for 50 points on 19-of-31 shooting from the field in an overtime victory for the Wizards, 133-132. However, Beal suffered a hamstring strain against the Pacers that will cause him to miss the next two games

Curry followed Beal’s heater with a sizzling 49 point effort on 14-of-26 shooting from the field in only three quarters during Golden State’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After the Warriors’ win, Kent Bazemore’s praised Curry’s scoring performance while taking a jab at Beal.

49 points in 29 minutes, that’s unreal. We got guys hurting hamstrings to keep up.

Beal will have to wait till next season before meeting Bazemore on the court. However, the three-time All-Star guard lit the Warriors up for over 20 points in a pair of wins for the Wizards in the 2020-21 campaign.

The race for the NBA scoring title will end on Sunday with the Warriors slated to meet the Memphis Grizzlies and the Wizards scheduled to battle the Charlotte Hornets.
