Wizard of Wishaw John Higgins hits 147 at the Crucible and could pocket £55k

John Higgins has recorded his first-ever 147 maximum break at the World Snooker Championships this morning.

It's the first 147 at the Crucible since fellow Scot Stephen Hendry achieved the feat back in 2012 and Higgins' 10th maximum of his career.

The Wizard of Wishaw is set to pocket a cool £55,000 if the stunning break goes unmatched during the rest of the Championships, which run until August 16.

Higgins, the four-time World champion, produced the 147 in his second round match against Kurt Maflin.
