Wizard of Oz with a live orchestra is coming to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall

Fans of Wizard of Oz will be able to watch their favourite film alongside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra this spring.

Taking place at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on Saturday, April 18 audiences will be able to hear their favourite songs performed live.

The Wizard of Oz is a musical featuring Judy Garland, first released in 1939. Since then the film has become a household favourite all over the world.

There will be two performances on April 18 one at 2.30pm and one at 7.30pm.

Anyone who buys a ticket will be also able to attend a free pre-concert talk at 6.15pm in the Music Room with Anthony Gabriel and BBC Radio Merseyside’s Angela Heslop ahead of the evening screening to get some expert insight into the night’s main event.

It follows the success of other film screenings such as Love Actually which sold out during its showing leading up to Christmas.

Tickets cost from £25 per person and are available to buy online or through the Box Office.

The Classic Intro is free to attend from 6.15pm in Music Room for all concert ticket holders.
