Wiz vs. Celts schedule set for Boston’s last seeding game Thursday

The Boston Celtics now have their schedule set for their until-now “TBA” contest with the Washington Wizards this Thursday, their final of eight seeding games in the Disney restart hosted at the company’s Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

The final non-playoff contest for the Celtics will begin at noon, Eastern Time on Thursday, July 13th — not exactly a prime time slot for a non-prime time matchup.

Already eliminated from playoff consideration and down several key players throughout the so-called ‘bubble,’ Washington is mainly looking on getting their participating players repetitions, and with the Celtics effectively locked into the third seed already, Boston will likely pursue a similar strategy.

Despite the fact that neither team is likely to be overly concerned with trying to gut out a win on their final ‘regular season’ game of 2019-20, the Celtics will send the Wizards packing — literally.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania related on Monday that the NBA will expect teams eliminated from contention to leave the Disney campus posthaste after their last game if not one of the 16 playoff teams, of which Washington already is not.
