Wittle Defender Tier List

Since there are a lot of units in the game, choosing five of the best ones for your team can be overwhelming which is where our Wittle Defender tier list comes in. We'll help you build an optimal team for this blend of card strategy and Tower Defense.

Wittle Defender: All Units Ranked

Tier Defenders
S Sword Saint, Robot, God Ruler
A Demon Spawn, Fire Witch, Swordmaster, Blazing Archer, Ice Demon, Ice Witch
B Cat Assassin, Night Baron, Thunder Pharao, Fire Mage, High Priest
C Demon Hunter, Ice Mage
D Frankenstein, Ice Wolf Pup, Unyielding Lancer, Rogue Fire Mage, Frost Archer, Wolf Ranger, Fire Apprentice

We have placed each unit after testing it in different scenarios. The higher you go up in tiers, all the units will have more AoE damage along with higher single-target damage against bosses. This makes them a valuable asset for your team. On the other hand, the lower you go in tiers, the defenders will have lower damage and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Overpowered (S Tier)

Units in this tier are the best in the game due to having good AoE spells and high damage. They can clear large waves without any issues. Certain characters, like the Demon Spawn and Ice Witch, have powerful upgrades to make them even stronger.

Defender Pros & Cons

Sword Saint
+ Deals high damage even without going all-in on upgrades.
+ Has a good targeting system, which makes it easy to focus on bosses or high-priority targets.

God Ruler
+ He has the highest damage in the game if you upgrade him a few times. Investing in him is highly beneficial.
+ God Ruler has tons of AoE damage that can help him clear waves of strong enemies without an issue.

Robot
+ He is the second-highest damage dealer in the game. His damage is useful against bosses or larger enemies with high HP.
+ Robot can be a strong tank if upgraded correctly. This makes him tank damage for the entire team while they deal DPS.

Extremely Strong (A Tier)

A-tier defenders can pack a punch thanks to their strong upgrades and useful abilities. They are good at taking down bosses and other enemies in waves. These units are good on their own and do not require proper team comps to be useful.

Defender Pros & Cons

Demon Spawn
+ Certain upgrades (like Hell Slash) can make him clear waves quickly.
+ Deals tons of single-target damage to bosses, making him one of the best DPS characters.
- Relies on RNG to get good upgrades. Otherwise, his damage isn't that high, and his attack speed is slow.

Fire Witch
+ High damage against waves makes her optimal for battling tons of enemies.
+ She has various useful upgrades that increase her projectiles, making her even better against hordes of enemies.
- Her skill has a high cooldown. While it can be reduced with upgrades, it requires you to invest a lot in her.

Swordmaster
+ The Swordmaster is optimal against waves due to his high damage and skill.
+ His skill has a low cooldown, which can be made even better thanks to his upgrades.
- He isn't good against bosses, even if you chain link him with the Sword Saint and Night Baron.

Blazing Archer
+ Provides utility to the team by spawning units that can tank and deal damage.
+ This unit has good damage against waves and bosses.
- Unfortunately, this unit falls behind units higher in the tier list. It cannot keep up in terms of damage or utility.

Ice Demon
+ He can summon units to keep enemies distracted. The units deal decent damage but can also become tanky after a few upgrades.
+ He works well against bosses thanks to his summons and damage.
- This defender relies on his team to have a strong and consistent DPS to handle tougher enemies.

Ice Witch
+ Upgrades can help her produce more ice projectiles, which are great for clearing waves.
+ She can freeze enemies, causing them to be stunned while you damage them
- Relies on upgrades to offer utility or deal damage. Investing too much in her can leave other units underleveled.

Somewhat Useful (B Tier)

Defenders in this tier can be useful if given the proper upgrades. Their stats aren't the best, but when used in the proper team, they can be useful and provide value to the team.

Defender Pros & Cons

Cat Assassin
+ Deals good single-target damage due to his high DPS and attack speed.
- His upgrades aren't worth investing in, despite being a legendary defender.

Night Baron
+ Has one of the best chain links with the Swordmaster and Sword Saint. This makes all three characters raid bosses.
- He isn't a strong character on his own. Either he is useful for the chain link or only works in strong teams.

Thunder Pharaoh
+ Teaming him up with Robot will enhance the damage of both characters, making him useful for your team.
- He isn't the best damage dealer. His initial damage is low, and his upgrades don't justify the cost.

Fire Mage
+ Good damage against bosses. He can quickly deplete the boss's HP thanks to his upgrades and damage.
- He isn't the strongest against waves due to a lack of strong AoE skills.

High Priest
+ Deals high AoE damage thanks to his upgrades. Upgrading his Orbs to max will allow him to paralyze enemies and use electric lasers.
- Upgrades are reliant on RNG. Putting too much into his upgrades will leave other units vulnerable.

Only Works in Certain Cases (C Tier)

These units do not perform well if not placed in a strong team. Even then, both the units in this tier have weak upgrades and are reliant on RNG to get stronger in every round. It's best to avoid these units as soon as you get a better option available.

Defender Pros & Cons

Demon Hunter
+ Upgrades like Scattershot are useful for dealing AoE damage to multiple enemies at once.
- She has low damage even when fully upgraded.
- Her upgrades aren't worth investing in other than one or two options, making her extremely niche.

Ice Mage
+ She has a chain link with the Ice Witch to deal tons of AoE damage and clear all waves quickly.
- The Ice Mage isn't a good character on her own due to low damage, despite being a legendary character.

Do Not Deploy (D Tier)

As the name suggests, do not deploy these defenders as they offer nothing valuable to the team. This is due to their low stats, weak upgrades, and low damage. Most of these units are ones you get early in the game for gacha purposes.

All the characters in this tier have more or less the same issues, so any defender not listed is also included here.

Defender Pros & Cons

Frankenstein
- He does not deal good damage even if you fully upgrade him.
- His skill isn't useful against bosses or normal enemies, making him useless.

Ice Wolf Pup
- This unit quickly gets useless after playing the game for a few rounds due to its low damage and high cooldown skill.
- The upgrades aren't worth getting at higher levels.

That's everything you need to know about the Wittle Defender tier list. All units are ranked based on their performance after testing them in various scenarios. Looking for more card strategy games? Check out our Shadowverse Worlds Beyond tier list to find the perfect class for your playstyle.
