Witnesses sought after teenager assaulted on train

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted on board a train travelling between Airdrie and Balloch.

Officers from British Transport Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, and are especially keen to hear from two women who comforted the victim immediately after the attack.

The victim had boarded the westbound train at Singer station in Clydebank at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, October 6.

He was approached during the journey by two unknown men – one of whom punched and kicked him repeatedly while the other filmed the assault.

The two men then ran off the train at Dumbarton.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 432 of October 6 2021; and alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
