Witnesses of motorbike crash praised for their quick thinking

Witnesses who rushed to the aid of a motorcyclist have been praised for their quick action.

Yesterday, Wednesday, May 5, a motorbike crashed with a BMW at the junction of Seabank Road and Zig Zag Road in Wirral.

People came to the aid of the man who was seen laying on the ground and some directing traffic away from the incident.

Comments on a post in a local Facebook group praised the New Brighton community in the immediate aftermath of the collision.

One woman said: "Hope he is soon recovered - drove past as it must of happened - huge respect to the locals in attendance there - from the lady redirecting the traffic around both the car and motorbike, the man taking photographs of the two vehicles and the lady leaned over and tending to the injured motorcyclist.

"Such a quick, caring, coordinated and spontaneous response was both inspiring and moving."

Another replied: "Great community spirits, very caring."

A third added: "Our little community is one of the best. Hoping for speedy recovery for the biker."

A woman who rushed to the scene said: "Well done to everyone that stopped."

Merseyside Police have confirmed to the ECHO there were no injuries reported following the crash.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that officers were in attendance following a road traffic collision in New Brighton yesterday, Wednesday, May 5.

"At around 4.25pm, officers attended Seabank Road at the junction with Zig Zag Road to reports of a collision between a BMW and a motorbike.

"Details were exchanged and no injuries were reported."
