Witness No. 3 on Channel 5: Full cast list, plot and how many episodes?

Witness No. 3, a new crime drama, has premiered on Channel 5. The gripping series caught the attention of viewers after its first episode premiered on Monday, July 18.

The series follows a woman named Jodie, a single mum who runs a hairdressing salon. But one day, everything changes as she becomes an important witness in a murder case.

The series, which is written by screenwriter Thomas Eccleshare and Diarmuid Goggins (Silent Witness, Bulletproof) is the director. But who is in the cast, what's it all about and how many episodes are there? Read on to find out. Who is in the cast of Witness No. 3?

Nina Toussaint-White

Nina-Toussaint-White leads the cast of Witness No. 3 (Channel 5)

Perhaps best known for her role in Bodyguard, Nina Toussaint-White is the protagonist of Witness No. 3 and plays Jodie, a single mother and salon owner who witnesses a murder.

Nina has had numerous other roles in television and has been in the likes of The Sister (ITV), EastEnders, The Feed, Doctor Who and Emmerdale.

Sion Daniel Young

Sion Daniel Young is PC Ivan Barkas (Channel 5)

Welsh actor, Sion Daniel Young plays PC Ivan Barkas - a police officer assigned to protect Jodie. Sion is perhaps best known for his roles in Keeping Faith and Hinterland.

The actor has also made appearances in Casualty, Doc Martin and the film, Private Peaceful.

Clare Dunne

Clare Dunne plays Detective Whelan (Channel 5)

The officer investigating the murder that Jodie witnessed is Detective Whelan, played by Clare Dunne. Recently, Clare starred in the smash-hit Marvel film, Spider-Man: Far from Home.

Elsewhere, Clare has appeared in Kin, The Last Duel and Herself.

Cole Martin

Cole Martin is Jodie's son, Kyle (Channel 5)

A relative newcomer to acting, Cole Martin plays Jodie's son, Kyle. Cole has previously starred in Small Axe and the upcoming, My Name is Leon.

Ruaridh Mollica

Po (played by Ruaridh Mollica) is terrorising Jodie (Channel 5)

Every good drama needs a great baddie, right? There to fill that role is Ruaridh Mollica, who plays Po - a gang member who attempts to intimidate Jodie following the murder.

Ruaridh has appeared in the likes of Tell It To The Bees, and Case Histories.

Sue Johnston

The Royle Family icon, Sue Johnston plays Jodie's mum, Carly (Channel 5)

Completing the cast is The Royle Family icon, Sue Johnston. She plays Jodie's mother, Cathy in the series.

Throughout her long career, Sue has appeared in numerous TV shows and films. She has starred in the likes of Brookside, Coronation Street, Downton Abbey, Waking the Dead, Time, Help, The Cockfields, Hold the Sunset, Kiri, The Good Karma Hospital, and more.

What is the plot of Witness No. 3?

The official plot for Witness No. 3 is: "A split-second look means the life of single mum Jodie is about to go into free fall. Unwittingly, she’s the last person to witness a killer and his victim before he’s murdered.

"After responding to a police appeal, Jodie is told her identity will be kept anonymous. And then it becomes clear why... She’s subjected to a terrifying campaign of intimidation by a gang sent to silence her, and they will stop at nothing to protect their accused boss. This claustrophobic psychological thriller asks: How far are you prepared to go to do the right thing?"

How many episodes of Witness No. 3 are there?

There are four episodes in Witness No. 3. The series, which began on Monday, July 18, sees each episode air on consecutive nights on Channel 5.

The series concludes on Thursday, July 21. Episodes will also be able to watch on demand via My5.
