World-renowned illustrator Joan Cornellà will bring his imagination to life through his art during the "Happy Endings" exhibition, which will kick off on Friday and run until Dec 3 from 11am-10pm, at Woof Pack, Sala Daeng 1.
Organised by Farmgroup, this is his second solo showcase in the Kingdom and will feature more than 60 pieces that blend cynicism and humour. Each piece will get viewers to experience the unexpected definition of "happy endings".
Highlights include pieces that are specially created to portray Bangkok's everyday nuisances, including many never-before-seen art works, such as paintings on canvas and unique sculptures. The exhibition will open up space for everyone to experience the cruel yet fun atmosphere that filled with smiles and laughter due to the social satire hidden in his work.
Cornellà is a Spanish artist who offers a different perspective toward our daily lives, especially in the unjust circumstances that we cannot control except in seeking an optimistic viewpoint and getting a laugh out of it. His works have been well-received in Asia, including in Hong Kong, Taipei and Bangkok. There will be books, T-shirts and canvas bags available for sale in limited quantities. The artist will also be there to sign merchandise.
Entry fee is 200 baht per person. Visit joancornella.net or http://facebook.com/joancornella.
