Witness appeal after man dies after being hit by car in Cumbria

A pedestrian in his 60s has died in a road traffic collision in Lanercost, Cumbria, prompting Cumbria Police to begin an appeal for witnesses.

The road traffic accident occurred at around 5.40pm on Monday, January 21, and involved a pedestrian and a Citroen Picasso car driven by a woman in her 50s.

The pedestrian was a man in his 60s who was declared dead at the scene.



On Twitter, the force wrote: "Appeal following fatal collision between a car and a pedestrian at Lanercost."

Officers are investigating the collision and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it to contact police referencing incident 180 of 20 January 2020.
