Witness appeal after East Lothian man attacked and forced to the ground on Haddington footpath

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was "attacked" on a footpath in East Lothian.

The incident took place yesterday (Sunday 18 August) at around 12:20pm on a footpath in a wooded area to the south of Amisfield Walled Garden, in Haddington.

A man was approached by the suspect who began to shout at him before forcing him to the ground.

It is understood he was left with minor injuries as a result of the "attack".

The male suspect is described as being approximately 6ft, slim build, short grey hair, clean shaven, wearing a black or dark coloured T-shirt, light coloured jeans.

Officers are now urging anyone who may have information to come forward.
