Withywood man who admits robbing woman faces prison term

Prison awaits a Withywood man who admits robbery.

Daniel O'Driscoll appeared via video link at Bristol Crown Court today (May 9, 2022). Several charges were put to him.

The 32-year-old, of Fouracres, denied attempting to burgle three properties in Old Pump House Close, Bedminster Down, on April 8. But he pleaded guilty to burgling one home in the Close that day, in which Audi car keys were stolen as well as a handbag and a mobile phone.

O'Driscoll also pleaded guilty to robbing a woman of cash - also on April 8. Daniel Woodman, defending, suggested a Probation Service report on his client would be helpful to the court.

Judge Martin Picton agreed a report was needed, including an assessment of the defendant's risk, and adjourned the case for sentence on June 6. He told O'Driscoll: "Custody is inevitable."
