Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce has given his verdict on the club's hopes to secure promotion to the Premier League, stating he's certain the club will be in the playoffs.
Forest sit eight points behind the automatic promotion spots ahead of tonight's clash against Millwall at the City Ground and six points above seventh-placed Bristol City.
Catching West Brom and Leeds United at the top of the league is a stern challenge that will take a significant turnaround but in the hunt for a top-six finish, they hold their own destiny in their hands.
While there is work to be done in the final 10 matches of the season, Pearce is confident that playoff football is set to be experienced at the end of the campaign.
“I think the two teams at the top of the league at the moment have probably been the standout teams over the duration but apart from that, it’s been a real mixed bag," he told Sky Sports.
“I think Forest have got to win tonight to have to have any opportunity of breaking into the top two. If they don’t win, I think it’s going to be a tough call.
“But it’s anyone's, I definitely think they’ll be in the playoffs, without a doubt, and then from there, it’s whoever hits form at the right time.”
