With two of the first three picks in the NFL draft, Ohio State now holds record for most first-rounders

With two of the 2020 NFL Draft’s top-three picks, the Ohio State football program has already had a decent amount of entertainment as all of the first three picks played on the team in 2017.

Chase Young went No. 2 to the Washington Redskins, a pick many knew were coming. However, Jeff Okudah to the Lion was one that we predicted, but it wasn’t one that was wildly expected. There was thought to be a trade there that didn’t materialize.

Okudah did indeed go to the Lions, and the trio of Buckeyes became the first teammates all taken in the top three of an NFL Draft. An insane plethora of talent, Ohio State has produced first-round talent for decades.

That said, when someone tells you Ohio State doesn’t produce NFL-ready talent, show them this graphic from Andrew Lind of Buckeye Sports Bulletin. Yes, the OSU program has broken a tie with USC, and now has the most all-time first-round draft picks of all-time.

USC, Notre Dame, and Miami all haven’t had top teams in recent history. However, Alabama’s 64 is steadily creeping as they could have up to four first-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft.

For now, Ohio State will have the lead for quite some time. With the top 2021 recruiting class coming in, expect more greatness to come from Columbus in the next half a decade.
