With seven new cases, UP records lowest Covid-19 count since March

LUCKNOW: As 69 out 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh reported no fresh Covid-19 cases, the number of infections across the state dipped to seven in the past 24 hours.

As many as 18 persons recovered from the pandemic infection in the same duration.

An official statement said that this was the lowest count since the onset of the second wave in March this year.

Officials revealed that overall test positivity in the past 24 hours remained 0.01% while the cumulative test positivity rate was 2.42%.

Data also said that the active case load in the state went below 400.

Experts, however, advised people to remain cautious and follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour to keep trouble away.

Officials said that despite registering a steady decline in the number of fresh cases, Uttar Pradesh has been pushing for more testing.

Covid-19 testing has been one of the most-stressed upon weapons against the pandemic. Uttar Pradesh has tested the maximum number of samples so far -- over 7.07 crore -- followed by Maharashtra’s 5.22 crore.
