Oab returns to his ex

They say never go back. But many of us still have feelings for our exes. So if we get the chance to start again, we go for it. It’s no surprise then that so many TV shows focus on on-again-off-again romances. The popular series Love Songs Love Series: Rueng Thee Kor to Be Continued (What I Ask For) is one of these.

Last season, we followed best friends Sky and C as they fell in love and started dating. After just seven days, they decided things weren’t working out. But this season, they’re ready to try again. What I Ask For stars popular actor Oabnithi Wiwattanawarang (Oab) as Sky, who is trying to rekindle his romance with C. But things aren’t going smoothly because of the interference of others.

S Weekly chatted with the 24-year-old actor at GMM25 where he told us about the show and his acting career.

You were at the Asian Television Awards recently. How was it?

Oab: It was a huge event. I was nominated for best supporting actor, which was a big deal for me. It was a great experience. There were stars from many countries. And I had opportunities to see films and series that I hadn’t seen before.

What kind of movies and shows do you like?

Oab: I like action, fantasy and detective films and shows. The most recent series I watched was a Spanish show called Money Heist. I don’t like horror because I’m afraid of ghosts.

Can you sleep after you watch a horror film?

Oab: I usually sleep with my mom after I watch a ghost movie. But after I saw Hereditary recently, I had to keep the light on while I went to sleep.

You made your breakthrough on Hormones the Series. How did you feel on the first day of filming?

Oab: I was so nervous and tense because I’d never been part of such a big production before. And the director Yong Songyos had a reputation for being tough. But everybody was so friendly. That helped me to relax.

What did you learn from Yong Songyos?

Oab: A lot. He told me to go out and experience new things because that would allow me to bring more to my acting roles.

How do you get into character?

Oab: A good actor must pay attention to small details. When I first get a script, I try to figure out as much as I can about the character. I often play people who don’t talk much so I have to look for hints in what they say or how others react to them. Then when I perform, I have to communicate emotions through my eyes.

What are your feelings on getting back together with an ex?

Oab: If a couple want to get back together, then it must be because they still have a connection. But who knows if the relationship will last. It’s possible that things might be better the second time around because they know what they need to improve.

Can you tell us about your upcoming drama, Mahat Sa Chan Rak Kham Kradat [My Dear Warrior]?

Oab: I play a comic book character called Hoshi who comes to life. I had to do fighting scenes which I’ve never done before. It was really difficult. It took a lot of practice to make the action scenes look natural.
