With early kickoff vs SC, Kirby Smart challenges Georgia fans

This Saturday, No. 3 Georgia will host South Carolina in Sanford Stadium on national television.

Unfortunately for literally everybody involved, the game will be a 12 p.m. kickoff.

Kirby Smart knows that’s not the time his players and fans want to see, but it is what it is, and the head coach is counting on us to make the best of it.

“I want to challenge our fans, who have always responded to challenges, to get in your seats early and get ready for an early kickoff,” Smart said on Monday. “Our guys will need that support, and we will need the crowd noise and the impact that we had in the Notre Dame game.”

With this being a noon kickoff, Georgia fans have reason to fear early struggles against the Gamecocks. This season, the Bulldogs have had a tendency of starting slow and looking sluggish.

Fans showing up early and being loud from the start against an SEC rival would go a long way in lighting a fire under the Dawgs.

The SEC on CBS game of the week will be between No. 1 Alabama and No. 25 Texas A&M. That game will kickoff at 3:30.

At 8 PM on ESPN, though, you can watch the best game of the day in college football between Florida and LSU. With Florida being on CBS last week, and then again on November 2nd versus the Bulldogs, my only guess as to why UF and LSU are not on CBS this week is because the network simply wants to spread the love.
