With Cal Ellenor injured, James Gallagher needs new opponent for Bellator Europe 4 main event

With just 10 days until Bellator Europe 4, the promotion has been left scrambling for a main event replacement after Cal Ellenor withdrew from his scheduled bout with James Gallagher.

Ellenor (8-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) was forced to pull out of the bantamweight matchup with Gallagher (9-1 MMA, 6-1 BMMA) on Tuesday due to an undisclosed injury. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with a Bellator official following an initial report from ESPN.com.

Bellator officials are currently searching for a replacement to fight Ireland’s Gallagher, who is expected to remain on the Sept. 27 card in backyard of Dublin at the 3Arena.

With the injury, here’s the latest Bellator Europe 4 card:

  • James Gallagher vs. opponent TBA
  • Richard Kiely vs. Michael Page
  • Peter Queally vs. Ryan Scope
