A Wishaw woman has thanked her gran for helping through the difficult times in her life.
Cara Duffy nominated Agnes Haley for our weekly Say it with Flowers competition after describing her as “an absolute rock” for everything she does for her family.
This was all done despite Agnes losing her beloved husband William after a short battle with cancer.
Cara said: “Gran lost my grandad to cancer last year, it took him very quick.
“He was diagnosed and then three months later he was sadly gone.
“I had just had my 12 week scan of my baby the same week he died.
“Even through all of that and through Covid she’s held our family together.
“She let me move in with her when I was pregnant and let me stay with my baby for the first few months of his life to help me get on my feet.
“She’s been an absolute saviour in helping me and my husband Cameron set up our house and helped with our wedding.
“My gran would genuinely give you the last 2p out her pocket. She’s just an absolute saviour in our lives and she’s just one in a million and deserves the world.”
Agnes spends her time doting on her children not to mention her 11 grandkids and one great-grandchild.
Cara added: “She does everything for everyone and anyone and never asks for anything back.
“We couldn’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for us all through the years and I really think she deserves this nomination.
“She’s our biggest support system and I think we would all be lost without her.”
