There was a few tears in the eyes of the children and staff at a Wishaw nursery last week as they bid farewell to someone special.
Samantha Clark, deputy manager, at the Cabbage Patch Nursery in Grampian Road, Wishawhill, was nominated for our Say it with Flowers Award by her boss Ashlea Lambert.
It was a fitting gift for Samantha’s hard work at the early years education centre as she was waved goodbye to the children there for the last time.
Samantha, 27, from Wishaw, is taking up a receptionist job in the town with hours better suited to her other role as a mum.
Ashlea admits Samantha will be sorely missed by the children and staff alike at Cabbage Patch as she moves to her new job.
“She is just great at her job and it’s really really sad that we are going to lose her,” Ashlea said.
“Samantha goes over and above what she needs to in her job.
“She is the deputy manager and because of her for the first time in a good number of years I’ve been able to take time off and not worry about what’s going on at work.
“And that’s because I know that she runs the place perfectly well when I’m not here.
“She’s got a great relationship with all of the children in here, and their parents as well as all the staff.
“She will be a huge loss to everyone in here. They are all gutted.
“Samantha is gutted too but she needs to do what’s best for her and her own children.
“We’ve got a few wee gifts for her but thought the Wishaw Press’s Say it with Flowers award would be a really nice way of showing our appreciation for everything she’s done here.
“Samantha is held in high esteem in here and want to wish her every success in her new job. We’ll all miss her.”
