Wishaw supermarket launches click and collect shopping service to help shoppers worried about pandemic

Wishaw’s Morrisons supermarket are launching a click and collect service starting on Wednesday, June 1.

It’s part of the number of changes the company has made to help shoppers get vital supplies during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new service means that customers who may be worried about shopping can order online, and turn up and collect.

Julie Thomson, manager at the Kirk Road store, said: “We also know customers are finding it increasingly hard to get an online slot to receive home deliveries.

“This new initiative will allow customers to browse online to choose the items they wish to purchase, then choose an hourly slot which suits.

“The customer comes to the designated area of the car park and a colleague will deliver their shopping straight to their car.

“Eliminating the need to come into the store as we know a lot of customers are isolating or still have fears around shopping in store.”

In April the supermarket took the step of introducing a doorstep delivery service making it easier for people most at risk from coronavirus to get their essential shopping. Residents in Wishaw and surrounding areas who are at risk, or self-isolating, can order food and other essential household items.

A special hotline number was set up for orders and Morrisons have produced a special shopping list with selected essential items that can be ordered.

Deliveries are normally made within 24 hours of ordering and payment can only be made by contactless card to the delivery driver.

The order hotline number is 0345 611 6111 then select option 5.

The click and collect service can be accessed securely at morrisons.com/help/online-shopping/click--collect/
