Wishaw street disturbance involving knives and metal poles sees three arrested

Three arrests have been made following a late-night street disturbance involving males brandishing knives and metal poles in the Wishaw suburb of Craigneuk earlier this week.

Police raced to the scene on Gateside Road after being alerted to reports of the rammy around 11:30pm on Monday evening (March 8).

Following an investigation, three males aged 28, 32 and 29-years-old were arrested in connection with the disturbance.

Officers also arrested a 29-year-old male for illegal use of a quad on Gateside Road and his quad was seized.

As a result of the incident, North Lanarkshire Police say that there will be increased visibility by officers in Craigneuk over the next few weeks and those conducting themselves in an anti-social manner will be dealt with robustly.

Police are also appealing to the local community to report anyone they know who is carrying weapons and or illegally using off-road motor bikes/quads by phoning 101, email LanarkshireLPSTWishawandShotts@scotland.pnn.police.uk or contact Crimestoppers-uk.org anonymously on 0800 555111.
