Wishaw Sports Centre set to reopen after being closed for months due to pandemic

Wishaw Sports Centre is set to reopen after being shut for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wishaw is one of six centres across North Lanarkshire due to open its doors to the public from Monday, September 14.

Others include the facility at Ravenscraig and the Time Capsule in Coatbridge.

In a statement on its website, NL Leisure said: “We are delighted to announce that some of our facilities will be opening from Monday 14 September as part of a phased approach.

“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and have been working very hard in the background with North Lanarkshire Council and all partners to ensure all relevant safety measures and procedures are in place and in line with the most up to date government advice.

“Full information on how to book various sessions along with our safety procedures will be released very soon.

“We have not finalised dates for the next phase of reopening as of yet, but as soon as we have further details, we will update our website and all relevant channels.”

NL Leisure added that if you are a direct debit member, you will automatically restart your membership from Monday, September 14, so you can start using any of our venues highlighted above from this date.

Memberships will restart on September 14.

No payments will be taken for the period of September 14 to October 4 to compensate for the lost time in March and DD’s restart on October 5.
