Mark Daly was ‘embarrassed’ by one of Wishaw’s worst ever results against Stoneywood, as they were knocked out of the Scottish Junior Cup.
Wishy lost 4-1 in the first round in a devastating blow in a tournament that is highly valued by key figures at the club.
“It’s one of the worst results that Wishaw have ever had,” Daly admitted. “We need to take responsibility for that.
“The club were very keen to keep their membership to be part of the cup so to go out in the first round was a bit embarrassing for the players and management team.
“We had a few stern words but we need to change it.
“We need to get back to winning ways.
“It was a really poor performance. It wasn’t a very good day at the office but it’s done now so we need to try to move on.
“It was individual errors which killed us. Three of the four goals were individual errors and we were punished for them.

“Our good start to the season came from keeping the back door shut and we’ve stopped doing that.”
Wishaw have a free weekend before playing St Rochs and Daly is relieved by the break.
He added: “It’s worked in our favour but we just couldn’t carry on like we were.
“It came at a good time for us and it will allow us to get bodies back too.”
