Wishaw’s hospitality and retail businesses will be able to finally throw open their doors to customers from next month as part of the latest easing of Covid lockdown restrictions.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today announced plans to reopen the sectors as she provided further detail on Scotland’s latest emergence from lockdown.
The re-opening will be dependent on falling virus numbers, Ms Sturgeon warned.
Pubs, restaurants and cafes, which have been shut since Boxing Day, can begin to welcome back customers from Monday, April 26.
The ‘stay at home’ guidance will be lifted from April 2 and be replaced with the new ‘stay local’ advice, where people would be free to travel around their own council area.
From Monday, April 5, the “phased re-opening” of non essential retail and collect retail services will be permitted, along with homeware stores, and car showrooms.
Garden centres will also be able to reopen on April 5 along with hairdressers and barbers.
Restrictions will be further eased from Monday, April 26.
