Wishaw residents will have their council tax frozen for the next financial year.
North Lanarkshire Council leader Jim Logue confirmed the freeze during the council budget which took place this afternoon.
Councillor Logue also paid tribute to council workers who had worked through the pandemic.
He said: “This year is a budget like no other. Covid has wrecked havoc in communities claiming lives and livelihoods and it’s right we remember those who have lost their lives.
“Our council, led by its staff, have been a beacon of hope working tirelessly to support our communities.
“It’s important we put on record our thanks to all of them.”
The SNP’s finance spokesman, and Central Wishaw councillor, Jim Hume added: “I would like to thank everyone working for the council and everything they have been doing during the pandemic.
“I know other councillors share that sentiment and we really do appreciate it.”
