Wishaw pub confirm women are barred following bar brawl captured on camera

A brawl in a Wishaw bar involving four women was filmed and posted on social media.

The shock video emerged on Twitter after the quartet were captured on a phone by someone else who was in The Wishaw Malt at the time.

The footage shows four woman on their feet with two of them screaming at each other amid the sound of breaking glass.

The two others seem to be struggling to keep the pair apart.

After a scuffle, one of the women wearing a brightly coloured patterned dress attempts to hit another woman in the face but is prevented by the other two.

The blonde-haired woman wearing the dress then throws a drink in the other’s face and follows that up by hurling the empty glass in her direction.

The second woman, with dark hair and wearing black trousers and a metallic gold top, retaliates by picking up a glass from another table and smashing it.

The remainder of the glass can be seen falling from her hand.

Both are screaming abuse at one another with one of them seemingly shouting comments about a wheelchair.

One is heard shouting: “I’ll kick your ****ing head in.”

At least three of the women seem to have been seated together at the same table.

The incident took place in the beer garden of the Wetherspoon’s pub in Kirk Road.

The video was posted online and tagged “Wishy”.

Other online users were less than impressed by their behaviour, one Twitter user commented: “It’s extremely sad that some people can’t go out for a drink or meal without overdoing it. The other customers and poor staff have to suffer this.

“People go on about other cultures having huge problems when people’s mums and granny’s are out acting like this in a bar”, another said.

While a woman added: “Makes me so proud of my town”.

The video had been viewed over 100,000 times.

JD Wetherspoon revealed the women involved have been barred.

A spokesman said: “We can confirm that an incident took place in the beer garden at The Wishaw Malt.

“The situation was dealt with swiftly and efficiently by staff at the pub, and nobody was hurt or injured.

“The police were called as standard procedure.

“Wetherspoon does not tolerate any form of antisocial or aggressive behaviour and the people responsible have been barred from the pub.”

Police Scotland confirmed they were called to an incident at around 5.35pm on the day the video emerged.
