Wishaw pensioner, 86, left shaken after being assaulted by youths with eggs

Police in Lanarkshire have launched an appeal for witnesses after an 86-year-old woman was assaulted by youths with eggs.

The incident occurred about 7.10pm on Sunday evening (April 25) in the Netherton area of Wishaw.

Local officers say the pensioner was left shaken by the incident.

A statement released by Lanarkshire Police Division said: "Wishaw Community Police are appealing for witnesses after an 86 year old female was assaulted by youths with eggs. The incident occurred about 7.10pm on 25th April 2021 in Netherton area of Wishaw.

"She was left shaken by the incident.

"Anyone with any further information is asked to contact 101 quoting "incident number 3401 of 25/04/21".
