To help with the safe return of pupils to schools, parents are being encouraged to sign-up to cashless payment option for school dinners.
In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, North Lanarkshire Council has made changes to payment methods to reduce the use of cash to help prevent the potential spread of the virus.
The council is also introducing daily meal pre-ordering in school for primary pupils and via an online App for secondary pupils.
Councillor Frank McNally, the council’s Convener of Education and Families said: “Many families were already using our contactless payments system and know how convenient it is to use.
“We want to do all we can to minimise contact points in schools as we manage health and safety procedures to protect our pupils and staff.
“Our online system allows payments to be made while further reducing contact in response to the pandemic.
“Cashless transactions are emerging as the preferred mode of payment across society for many people at the moment.
“It is free and secure to sign-up to and will help you keep on top of your children’s school payments.”
Payments through iPayImpact can be made securely online 24/7 using debit/credit card for all school meals and other school expenses such as trips and uniform items. The facility is available in all primary and secondary schools as well as most ASN schools.
