Staff at a Wishaw nursery are celebrating having received top marks from the Care Inspectorate.
Inspectors appeared at St Thomas Primary Nursery in Caledonian Road for an unannounced inspection back in September.
And the nursery staff to receive a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate remarking that children were receiving “outstanding care”.
Kelly Anne Dunn, from the nursery, said: “I would like to thank the whole nursery team for their hard work during a very challenging time.
“Their commitment to our children and families is unquestionable and we are delighted that this has been reflected throughout our inspection report.
“The pandemic has further highlighted the true value of our personal interactions and relationships with our families and community.
“We are committed to further growing and nurturing these to continually improve our service.
“Our children have shown such resilience and tenacity and they remind us every single day of the joy and wonder of childhood.”
St Thomas Primary headteacher Maryann Preston added: “We are delighted with the nursery inspection report, especially being able to maintain excellence and a sector leading service for our children and families during the pandemic.
“I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and dedication to the children of St Thomas.”
In its report inspectors noted: that all parents and carers said that they were very happy with the quality of care their children received.
The report contined: “Parents told us that staff knew their children well and worked closely with the whole family to support meeting their needs.
“There were 33 children present at the time of the inspection. All were happy, settled and enjoying their play.
“Children received outstanding care and support from kind, caring and nurturing staff who knew children well and met their individual needs.
“Staff worked with families to help them thrive, and support was offered when people needed it most.
“For example, delivery of food packages and provision of a clothing bank.
“Children participated in freely chosen play which was fun, exciting and interesting. The excellent range of toys and materials encouraged children to be creative, curious and solve problems.
“Staff were warm, friendly, caring and worked well together. This contributed to a welcoming and nurturing environment for children.”
