Wishaw mum thanks daughter who continues to push on life despite lung condition

A Wishaw mum has thanked her daughter who continues to push on with her life despite suffering from cystic fibrosis.

Pamela Kerr was diagnosed with the lung condition when she was just three but has never allowed it to impact on her daily life.

Proud mum Elaine Neill told Lanarkshire Live: “Pamela is a fantastic daughter, who despite having cystic fibrosis, holds down a full time job, goes to the gym regularly, looks after her beloved Frenchie Luna with fiancé Scott, and is in the middle of planning her wedding for August this year.

“I think she must be the most chilled bride ever, she’s just so laid back. I think I’m more excited than she is.

“Pamela is an inspiration because of her strength and determination.

“She’s had a chest infection lately but never grumbles or moans.

“You never hear her complaining, I’m so lucky to have her as a daughter.”

Elaine nominated Pamela for our weekly Say it with Flowers competition.

And we were able to surprise Pamela at her home in Wishaw with a beautiful bouquet of flowers thanks to our friends at Pixie’s Petals in Newmains.

Before presenting her with the flowers, Elaine told us: “I think she deserves the flowers because of her positivity and attitude to life despite her health condition.

“She definitely does not let it get in her way and has achieved many things over the years despite it.

“Pamela is a very determined character. When she decides she wants to do something she just goes on and does it.

“She has did that throughout her life whether it be through school or at her work.

“She will probably kill me for the nomination but I think she deserves it because she’s absolutely brilliant.”
