Wishaw MP urges local people to follow her lead and help save lives by ensuring they get their Covid jag

Wishaw MP Marion Fellows received her Covid-19 vaccine this week and urged locals to get the jab.

NHS Lanarkshire have confirmed all over-70s have been given an appointment to receive their first dose.

Mrs Fellows praised the NHS staff at the Wishaw Sports Centre who are administering the vaccine and encouraged everyone to get the jab and ignore anti-vaccination disinformation.

She said: “Vaccinations are the best tool we have in combating Covid-19, ending restrictions, and saving lives. I encourage everyone who has been given an appointment to attend to protect themselves, their families, and their communities.

“I am elated to receive my first dose. While it does not mean the pandemic is over, it is an important step. Now that the vaccination programme is underway, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

“Uptake in the first groups to receive the vaccine has been amazing. However, we cannot be complacent. There is a lot of disinformation on the vaccine and Covid-19.

“We must trust the health professionals who created the vaccine. Get the vaccine and save lives.”
