Wishaw McDonald's mobbed as lockdown restrictions start to ease

As lockdown restrictions start to ease, Wishaw saw another sign that things are getting back to normal.

The town’s McDonald’s reopened last week, with a limited menu and drive-thru only service.

However, that didn’t stop hundreds of hungry fans queueing for the chance to get their first taste of the golden M in months.

Cars turned up early to grab their meals, which had a £25 spend limit.

It was no different across the rest of the country, as McDonald’s opened up all of their drive-thru restaurants this week.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “In order to allow for social distancing, we will have fewer employees in our kitchens and service areas. We continue to ask that you use contactless payment methods wherever possible.

"We are delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland but it will look different and take a little longer.”
