Wishaw man ordered to attend counselling after convictions on separate charges

A Wishaw man has been ordered to attend addiction counselling after being convicted of two separate charges while he was released on bail.

Garry Murray appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week for sentence having admitted the charges against him back in April.

On October 28 last year, in Earn Crescent, Wishaw, Murray behaved in a threatening manner by shouting, swearing and making offensive remarks.

Then on December 10 in Alexander Street, 31-year-old Murray shouted and swore before issuing threats of violence and struggling with police.

Both incidents took place after Murray, of Gair Crescent, Pather was released on police bail.

In court this week, Sheriff David Bicket ordered Murray to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work within the next nine months.

This was reduced from 200 hours on account of his guilty pleas.

Murray was also put on a 12-month community payback order with supervision and told to attend addiction counselling.
