A Wishaw man has been jailed after assaulting his partner then ignoring a court order to keep away from her.
Jason Watson, of Myrtle Drive, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
The 39-year-old admitted punching the woman repeatedly at an address in Pentland Road, Wishawhill, on January 11.
The court heard he subjected the woman to verbal abuse and threats, grabbed her by the throat, punched her then seized her phone in an effort to stop her calling the police.
Watson also admitted breaching bail conditions imposed on January 14 by entering Pentland Road and approaching the victim on March 2 and 5.
Watson was put behind bars for eight months.
