Wishaw Juniors launch new manager search as boss Kieran McGuinness resigns

Wishaw Juniors manager Kieran McGuinness has left the club.

Having taken charge at The Beltane in May 2018 McGuinness and assistants Barry Fraser and Paul Finnigan have now left the club for personal reasons.

In a statement, the club said: "We have to advise that Kieran McGuinness and his assistants Barry Fraser and Paul Finnigan have left the club.

"We would like to record our appreciation of their hard work and commitment during their time with us and wish them well for the future."

Committee member Alex Young said the club reluctantly accepted the resignation of the gaffer with the club battling at the bottom of West Region League One.

Young said that the Juniors have placed Kevin Grant has been placed in interim charge of the club for the game against Lanark this weekend.

He added that the club will take "a couple of weeks" before naming a permanent successor.
