Members of Wishaw Golf Club celebrated 125 years of glorious history with an anniversary competition.
The tournament, sponsored by Lexus Glasgow, saw 150 golfers take to the course to mark the anniversary of the club’s formation back in 1897.
Club secretary Bill Quigley said: “It was a very successful event which we were all hoping for.
“The club itself is doing well, we still have a waiting list which is very rare during this time.
“Some of the other clubs in the area are starting to struggle so we are keeping our fingers crossed we keep doing well.
“We have got a real hardcore of members who live in the local area and the fact we are based so close to the town centre makes a difference.”
Bill is also delighted with the large number of young players at the club which continue to swell the ranks.
“We have got 95 juniors which is pretty incredible,” added Bill.
“It’s thriving at the moment and our hope is that they stay and migrate into the senior ranks.
“Who knows we might even have a future champion or two in there.”
