Wishaw butchers launch competition to catch crooks caught on CCTV robbing store

A Wishaw butchers have cooked up a plan to find two men caught on CCTV robbing the store in the early hours of Sunday morning.

James Chapman Butchers in the town’s Main Street was targeted by the crooks who smashed the shop’s windows and got away with around £60 from the till.

Now bosses at the popular butchers are offering a free steak pie to anyone who can name the crooks from the CCTV footage.

The Facebook post states: “Competition time! Win a free steak pie if you can name the young man in this picture.

“Private mail the page to enter, all entries will be entirely confidential or alternatively contact police Scotland on 101 if you have any details on this pair of torags’ early morning shopping spree.

“Please like and share. Aw ra best when it comes to you.”

Police have confirmed the crooks were disturbed when the store’s alarm system was activiated.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 4am on December 29, the Chapman’s store in Wishaw Main Street had its windows smashed and a small amount of cash was taken from the till.

“CCTV captured two males just before the alarm was activated.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
