Wishaw boss rues missed chance against "best he's seen" St Cadoc's

Gaffer Mark Daly says missed chances cost his Wishaw side against a St Cadoc’s outfit he insists is the best he’s seen this season.

The Glasgow side ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a penalty five minutes into the second half of the West Of Scotland League Conference B clash.

Daly was pleased with the performance, if not the result, and said: “It was a good game. They’re a very good outfit, best I’ve seen.

“We had a good chance just before half-time, didn’t take it, and five minutes into the second half we conceded what I thought was a harsh penalty – but I can see why he gave it.

“We competed well.

"We didn’t have a lot of the ball but our shape and discipline were good, when we got the ball we created as much as we could, but it’s one of those where you’ve got to take your chance when you get it.”

Daly aims to use the festive break to recruit and also hopes to arrange a friendly before the January 9 return.

He said: “I have a few niggling injuries so it gives these boys a chance to rest and we’ll hopefully get a friendly in, get some boys some game-time and back up to speed.

“We’ll try and recruit over Christmas, see if I can get a body or two back in.”
