Wisconsin comes into this contest fresh off of a 38-0 shutout of Michigan State, which brought them to 6-0 on the season. The Badgers held the Spartans to 149 yards of total offense in that game, while controlling the ball for nearly 40 of the 60 minutes in that matchup. The Badgers have allowed 4.8 points per game through six games this season but will have to be careful not to look ahead to their next two games against Ohio State and Iowa before taking care of business in this one.
Illinois dropped their last game in a 45-27 decision to the Michigan Wolverines. The Illini did cut a 28-0 deficit down to 28-25 early in the fourth quarter, but could not sustain that momentum as Michigan added another pair of scores to put the game away late. Running back Reggie Corbin is averaging over five yards per carry on the season, and Illinois will need him to perform against a fearsome Wisconsin defense to prevent the Badgers from dominating the time of possession battle.
