Wisconsin vs Arizona State SDS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl Preview
– Caffeine up for the good bowl matchup that will go into the wee hours of the morning depending on where you’re watching. But it’s the Las Vegas Bowl – there are no clocks, unless you’re the Arizona State defense trying to get off the field.
– You know exactly what Wisconsin is about to bring. The team will have a major attitude after blowing its shot at the Big Ten Championship with a puzzling performance in a 23-13 loss to Minnesota.
– The running game that fell flat will have all the parts healthy, and the attack that wants to control the tempo and keeps the ball for close to 34 minutes per game will want to grind it out.
– Arizona State has been able to get tough at times, too. It ran for well over 220 yards in three of the last four games – all wins, but there’s a problem with that; more in a moment – and it also has enough of a deep ball passing attack to bother a Badger secondary that struggles against the more efficient passers

Why Arizona State Will Win The SDS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl
It’s a simple concept against the Wisconsin defense that most teams just don’t try …
Throw the ball. Throw the ball deep. Keep throwing the ball, and keep throwing the ball deep.
The Badgers have a fantastic pass rush that makes that harder than it might seem, but if you have a line that can give a solid, veteran passer just a wee bit of time, the shots are there to be had against the scheme.
Crazily enough, Army and Nebraska were able to figure that out, but it wasn’t enough to get over the hump in two way-close losses.
Penn State was able to open it up with just a few big late passes, Michigan averaged over eight yards per throw, and Minnesota’s Tanner Morgan averaged over 12 yards a pass – all three teams won.
Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels can’t be shy. He has to take a few chances, he has to spread the ball around, he has to use his mobility, and he has to take his shots deep.
He only threw ten touchdown passes with nine picks, but the offensive line is just good enough to give him plenty of opportunities to make big things happen.
He has to be magnificent because ….

Bowl Season Players To Watch & Know
Why Wisconsin Will Win The SDS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl
Arizona State RB Rachaad White is getting ready for the NFL and second-leading running back DeaMonte Trayanum took off for Ohio State.
Wisconsin might have had a few issues late in the season, but it still finished No. 1 in the nation in total defense. No. 1 against the run, and fifth against the pass.
Don’t expect much balance to the Arizona State attack.
Yeah, the Sun Devils are solid in pass protection, and there’s talent up front that can hit, but the Badgers live in opposing backfields and feast on quarterbacks who start to press a bit.
Rely on the defense, keep handing the ball off to freshman sensation Braelon Allen, and take advantage of every opportunity all while holding the ball for over 35 minutes.
Wisconsin can do that, but …

Wisconsin vs Arizona State: SDS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl, What’s Going To Happen
Don’t just assume Arizona State is going to get run over on both sides of the line.
The Sun Devils are bringing a nasty run defense to Las Vegas, the D was second overall in the Pac-12, and …
The team commits too many penalties and turns it over too often.
As long as the Badger offense doesn’t try to make some sort of a statement for 2022 when it comes to QB Graham Mertz – the Arizona State secondary that takes the ball away in bunches might eat him alive – everything should be okay.
Wisconsin’s defense is about to come up with a massive performance.
Wisconsin is 5-1 in bowl games under Paul Chryst, and he’s got the team and the style that should be able to outlast the Sun Devils. It’ll take a little time, but the running game will wear out the ASU defensive front in the second half.
