Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ took out his own bench to save a loose ball

Wisconsin’s Ethan Happ put his body on the line in the second half of a tight game against No. 12 Oregon, leaping out of bounds toward his own bench to try and save a loose ball. His teammates quickly got out of the way and watched as he took out three chairs, then instinctively turned their heads to follow the play. The commentary crew was not impressed.

Happ stepped on the line before he touched the ball, but the referees didn’t notice. The reaction of Happ’s teammates sparked a debate on Twitter. Did they let him down by not preventing him from hitting the floor, or did they give him the space he needed to keep the play alive?
