Wisconsin Offers 2021 Offensive Lineman Donovan Jackson

At 6-4 and 300 pounds, Donovan Jackson is ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 2 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports Composite. Wisconsin wide receiver coach Ted Gilmore was obviously impressed.

Swinging through Texas during the spring evaluation period this week, Gilmore officially added another scholarship offer to Jackson’s haul.

Highly recruited since his freshman year, who started picking up offers in middle school, Jackson holds offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Stanford, TCU and others. He is getting the heaviest attention from Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama and Stanford.

Scouting profile from 247 sports:

Strengths: Jackson has a strong build with good length and weight. He shows clean feet, and he plays with excellent technique and precision. Jackson is quick on his feet, and he moves well laterally to pick up oncoming blitzers. He plays with great intelligence, and he’s able to pick up stunts and twists easily. Jackson shows good knee bend and flexibility to sink his hips against oncoming rushers, and he buries defenders at the point of attack on running plays. He’s athletic enough to pull and play in space, and he shows a great motor. Jackson has a high ceiling for development, but he as an extremely high floor.

Areas for improvement: Jackson could stand to improve hand placement and violence in his punch. He’s a bit undersized for the tackle position, but he utilizes his impressive wingspan enough to offset. His size will make him a bit of a tweener, but he has the ability to play any position on the line.
